Boston emcee Akrobatik reportedly suffered a heart attack last night. According to close associates Mr. Lif and Edo.G, he went into open heart surgery earlier today and is in stable condition following the procedure.
News of Akro's hospitalization first broke on Twitter, where there were rumors of a medically-induced coma. Several of his aforementioned peers confirmed a heart attack, but explained that he was not in a coma.
Akrobatik has been a fixture in the Boston hip-hop scene for over a decade. He most recently released his second studio LP Absolute Value in 2008, and appears each morning on JAM’N 94.5’s morning show for his daily “Sports Wrap-Up.” Source
